What is needed to avoid paying the Collateral Protection Fee?

To avoid a Collateral Protection Fee, you must maintain:

• Full coverage auto insurance 
• Comprehensive and collision coverage 
• Deductibles of $1,000 or less 
• Heritage Acceptance listed as the lienholder 
• The correct Heritage Acceptance P.O. Box address listed on your policy

When will I receive my title after my vehicle is paid off?

You should receive your title within 4–6 weeks after your final payment has been processed. If you need a lien release letter sooner, please contact Heritage Acceptance at 800-233-9598.

Late fees are assessed according to the terms of your contract if a full payment is not received by the due date.

What should I do if my vehicle gets impounded?

What is a simple interest loan?

Accepted Answer

A simple interest loan calculates interest daily based on your remaining loan balance. The sooner payments are made and the lower the principal balance becomes, the less interest you may pay over time. Adding even a small amount toward the principal balance can help reduce total interest paid and may allow you to pay off your loan sooner.

Can I transfer my loan to another person?

Yes. This process is known as a loan assumption. It may involve another person taking over the loan or adding/removing a borrower from the current loan. Please contact Heritage Acceptance to discuss eligibility and requirements.
